We guide on some of Gauteng’s and Mpumalanga’s top bass fishing destinations, including Rhenosterkop Dam, Rust de Winter, Bronkhorstspruit Dam, and Loskop Dam. These waters are renowned for producing hard-fighting bass and the chance at a true trophy fish.
We use a variety of effective methods to target bass, from topwater poppers and streamers on fly rods to soft plastics, crankbaits, and jerkbaits on spinning gear. Whether you prefer the finesse of fly fishing or the versatility of conventional tackle, we’ll tailor the experience to suit your style.
Bass fishing in Gauteng is excellent year-round, with each season offering unique opportunities.
Spring & Summer (September – May): Peak feeding season as bass become aggressive, smashing topwater lures and flies in the shallows.
Winter (June – August): While bass slow down, this is the time for trophy fish, as the bigger bass feed heavily in preparation for the spawn.
Pre-Spawn (Late Winter – Early Spring): Some of the most exciting fishing of the year, as big females move up into shallower water, providing a prime opportunity to target massive fish.
Our trips are designed for all skill levels. Beginners will learn the basics of casting, retrieving, and playing a fish, while experienced anglers can fine-tune their skills with advanced tactics. It’s a great way to spend time outdoors, unwind, and land some serious fish!
